Hi, thank you for coming to look at our website and my profile. I work here at Vita offering counselling to individual adults, couples, families children and young people. I have a passion and love for counselling that is hard to describe. Being with you on your journey is such an honour, I feel privileged every time I sit opposite an individual who is comfortable enough to open themselves up and to trust me enough to let me in. I am an open book in the counselling room, I feel for you to share with me, you may want to know a little about me too; I am a mum to twin neurodivergent boys, one of which who also has a physical and learning disability. I am ADHD myself, diagnosed at a late age. I am an advocate for self-care which for me involves being at the beach, walking my 2 dogs and having family time. I have a passion for learning and I hope this shows in the training I have and continue to undertake. Through my work I have worked in various settings including schools / colleges and charities.
Qualifications:
My name is Lisa and I am proud to be one half of Vita, where I am able to offer therapy with the Person-Centred approach at its core. This enables us to work together in a way that suits your specific needs within a safe, genuine, confidential and non-judgmental environment, to talk about your life and anything that you may be struggling with or finding confusing, painful or uncomfortable. This is achieved through working alongside you in an empathetic and respectful way, supporting you through difficult times of the past, present and future whilst empowering you to make positive changes in your life.
My passion for counselling is fueled by seeing an individual walk away lighter, feeling more free and excited to live their own personal journey after healing from wounds, trauma and obstacles that have been in their path, with increased awareness, acceptance and self-esteem.
It’s a privilege for me to be trusted in joining an individual on their journey as they open themselves fully to explore, re-connect and make sense of their life and experiences.
“The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still be accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help”
- Irvin D Yalom
